Sea urchin—uni in Japanese—has evolved from a humble sea creature into one of the most prized delicacies in the culinary world. Complex, bold, and unmistakably distinctive, it rewards those who appreciate depth and character. That spirit directly inspired the 37.09 Uni, MING’s most expressive and unconventional dive watch.

Building on the foundation of the GPHG award-winning 37.09 Bluefin, the Uni introduces a darker, more visceral personality. Like its namesake, it is armored, resilient, and visually striking. The 38mm stainless steel case is finished in hard-wearing black DLC, contrasted by vivid orange accents that reference the glowing core of a sea urchin. Beneath the surface, its engineering is every bit as formidable, offering a conservatively rated 600 metres of water resistance with a sapphire caseback.

Instead of a traditional external bezel, the 37.09 Uni features an internal rotating sapphire timing dial, filled with luminous material and operated by a sealed crown that can be used underwater. New hour index architecture and an abundance of Super-LumiNova—including MING’s first use of orange-emission lume—ensure exceptional legibility in all conditions.

Powering the Uni is a customised Sellita SW300.M1 automatic movement, finished exclusively for MING. Bold yet technical, the 37.09 Uni is a confident departure from the expected—designed for collectors who enjoy watches with both substance and edge.
