MING 37.09 Bluefin

The 37.09 Bluefin is MING’s most accomplished interpretation of the modern dive watch—one that has been recognised by the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève with the Sports Watch Prize and embraced by collectors worldwide. Rather than pursuing extreme thickness, MING returned to the refined architecture of the 37-series, creating a diver that balances technical excellence with elegance and wearability.

Through careful optimisation of crystal curvature, prototypes achieved saturation depths far exceeding original targets, allowing the Bluefin to be conservatively rated at 600 metres of water resistance. Despite this capability, it remains a compact 38mm in diameter and just 12.8mm thick, with a visually slim profile thanks to the near absence of an external bezel and alternating brushed–polished finishes.

In place of a traditional rotating bezel, elapsed-time tracking is integrated into a Super-LumiNova X1–filled sapphire dial, rotated internally via a 60-click unidirectional mechanism operated by a sealed crown at 4 o’clock—usable even underwater. The deep blue sapphire dial features metallisation that delivers MING’s signature optical inversion and exceptional legibility in all lighting.

Lume is abundant throughout, including newly developed multi-layer printed hands for increased brightness and longevity. Powering the watch is a customised Sellita SW300.M1 automatic movement with skeletonised anthracite-finished components and a 50-hour power reserve.

Completing the watch is a purpose-developed FKM rubber strap, shaped to follow the natural curve of the wrist and universally compatible with MING’s 20mm lug models—engineered for comfort, durability, and daily wear, both above and below the waterline.
