MING 37.08 Starlight

Continuing MING’s exploration of elemental and expressive watchmaking, the 37.08 Starlight follows the playful yet refined spirit first introduced with the 37.08 Sand. Inspired by a clear night sky, its aventurine dial evokes a field of distant stars—subtly shimmering against a deep blue-black backdrop. Achieving this effect required extensive selection, as aventurine can vary greatly in colour and sparkle, with only a handful of variants meeting MING’s exacting standards.

The polished nature of the aventurine dial allows it to deliver MING’s signature optical inversion without the need for an additional sapphire layer, keeping construction minimal while preserving visual depth. Anthracite-coated hands feature a newly developed Super-LumiNova X1 application, printed in multiple passes to enhance glow consistency, brightness, and longevity.

Housed in the familiar 37-series stainless steel case measuring 38 x 10.9mm, the Starlight wears larger and slimmer than its dimensions suggest, thanks to a narrow bezel and refined brushed–polished finishes. The watch is powered by a hand-wound Sellita SW210.M1, finished with skeletonised rhodium bridges over a dark anthracite base.

Paired with MING’s second-generation universal bracelet—featuring sculpted leaf links, quick-release functionality, and a hidden butterfly clasp—the 37.08 Starlight is an elegant yet versatile interpretation of modern independent watchmaking, balancing cosmic drama with everyday wearability.
