Vianney Halter, often hailed as a visionary of independent watchmaking, has partnered with William Massena of Massena LAB to create the Old Soul. This collaboration bridges past and present, housing a restored Minerva 17’22 movement from the 1920s–40s within Halter’s signature steampunk-inspired architecture. The vintage caliber has been reworked to feature a “mystery” dial with a transparent disc, making a blued arrow hand appear to float above the surface.

Time is displayed in a regulator style: hours at three o’clock, seconds at nine, and minutes on the outer track. The 42mm stainless steel case combines brushed and polished finishes, with a concave bezel and studded crown adding depth to the design. A quote on the caseback — “Time is the fire in which we burn” — underscores the theme of mortality and legacy. Limited in availability, Old Soul debuts August 26, 2025, through MassenaLAB.com.
