L.LEROY: A Legacy of Horological Excellence

For more than two centuries, L.LEROY has represented the pursuit of precision, innovation and exceptional craftsmanship. Its legacy reached a defining moment at the beginning of the 20th century, when Lisbon collector António Augusto de Carvalho Monteiro commissioned Louis Leroy to create a timepiece embodying the highest achievements of mechanical watchmaking.

The result was an extraordinary pocket watch comprising 975 components and 27 complications. Presented at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle, it received the highest distinction and became a landmark in horological history. Known as “La Lucie,” the masterpiece is now preserved at the Musée du Temps in Besançon.

L.LEROY’s expertise extended beyond complicated watches into scientific and precision timing instruments. In collaboration with the Paris Observatory, the Maison developed an innovative radio time-signal system installed on the Eiffel Tower in 1910, contributing to the advancement of international timekeeping.

The Maison also pioneered early self-winding wristwatches, introducing an automatic model in 1922.

Today, L.LEROY draws upon an extraordinary historical archive and centuries of French watchmaking heritage. Revived in 2023, the Maison now combines its Parisian origins with Swiss haute horlogerie expertise, creating contemporary timepieces that unite heritage, technical excellence and refined craftsmanship.
