Hands-on: Breguet Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035 – A Modern Tribute to a Horological Legend
To mark its 250th anniversary, Breguet unveils the exquisite Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035—a watch that fuses historical roots with modern finesse. Drawing from A.L. Breguet’s groundbreaking 18th-century designs, the 7035 features an openworked dial inspired by Souscription pocket watches, showcasing the movement architecture front and center.
The 38mm case, crafted from proprietary “Breguet gold,” exudes vintage charm, while the signature fluted caseband and long welded lugs stay true to the brand’s DNA. A hand-guilloché subdial in vivid Breguet blue sits at 12 o’clock, paired with open-tipped gold hands and classic Arabic numerals. A retrograde seconds display enhances the dial’s symmetry and motion.
Powered by the automatic calibre 505 SR with a 50-hour reserve and a platinum rotor, this modern movement includes a Nivachron balance spring and ceramic-bearing rotor. The Tradition 7035 is a rich celebration of Breguet’s past, seen through a contemporary lens.
