First Look The New Schwarz Etienne 1902 Petite Seconde Heure Dorée

The new Schwarz Etienne 1902 Petite Seconde Heure Dorée introduces a striking interpretation of the brand’s refined 1902 collection, combining contemporary materials with traditional Swiss watchmaking. Its 39mm Grade 5 titanium case is finished in deep black through a multi-layer DLC treatment, creating a lightweight yet sophisticated presence on the wrist. Subtle contrasts across the satin-brushed bezel, polished and brushed lugs, and curved profile add depth to the monochromatic exterior, while the 50-metre water resistance makes it practical for everyday wear. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the dial presents a rich black composition with varied textures that respond beautifully to changing light. Golden 4N PVD hour markers and lancine-style hands provide warmth and clarity, complemented by a matching Schwarz Etienne signature and finely executed minute and seconds tracks.

The understated small-seconds display at 6 o’clock reinforces the watch’s balanced, symmetrical character. Turning the timepiece over reveals the ASE 300.00 automatic calibre, an in-house micro-rotor movement developed and assembled in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Its 191 components, 29 jewels and 86-hour power reserve demonstrate the manufacture’s technical expertise, while anthracite and ruthenium finishing gives the movement a contemporary visual identity.

Decorative Côtes de Genève, polished bevels and a gold-toned micro-rotor further enhance its presentation. Completing the design is a black Cordura strap with rubber lining and a matching DLC-coated titanium buckle. Limited to just eight pieces, the Heure Dorée offers collectors an exclusive blend of modern aesthetics, refined mechanics and understated luxury.
